Built upon years of experience in the sauna industry.

Monarch Saunas is built upon years of experience in the sauna industry. Our team has trained under an industry pioneer, Bert Jalasjaa, the author of The Art of Sauna Building. Having founded several companies in the Waterloo Region since 1974, his designs and plans have become an industry standard. Our expertise draws on years of experience selling, installing and servicing brands such as Saunacore, Steam Sauna, and Homecraft.

With increasing global uncertainty, Monarch Saunas is bringing production back on-shore. Increasing costs due to fuel and duties are eroding the competitive advantage of overseas production. We are promoting Made in Canada products using locally and domestic produced materials where possible.

Ever wanted the convenience of the sauna in your own home?

With a custom sauna build, you
can achieve this in your own home. There are a few options.

Many people will convert an existing room into a sauna, or will frame out a new room in their garage or basement. This is lined with a cedar material kit, popular with the do-it-yourself customer. We offer full consultation and installation services for material liner kits.

There are also freestanding sauna rooms, which can be easily assembled and moved. We produce custom pre-fab sauna rooms, using both infrared and traditional heading technology. These can be custom-built for your home.

Why Order A Custom Sauna?

The difference between ordering a custom sauna vs a kit or prebuilt

For a custom sauna installation, we will visit your site, take some pictures and measurements,
and determine how much material would be needed for the project. We will help you design a
bench layout that works for your sauna needs, and is structurally sound. Our electrician will
hard-wire the heater to your breaker panel, and our installers will cut all the material to length
on-site for a perfect fit. In the end you will have a custom sauna built to fit your home and
lifestyle!

We also offer pre-fabricated saunas, which we can also install on-site. These can be customized
but are modular and designed to be easily moved. They are not permanent installations. For
these, we will inspect your desired location, and design a kit that is optimal for the space. We
will provide dedicated electrical wiring that is suitable for the size of heater. Come see our
display models in our Waterloo showroom!

The process of ordering a custom sauna

Let us know where you want your sauna installed. We can help you find out what style of sauna
fits your lifestyle. Do you want a wet sauna, or a dry sauna? How many people will be using it
on a regular basis? How hot do you prefer? Do you need room to stretch or do hot yoga? Will
you be moving down the road, or is this a permanent upgrade to your home?

Leave us some comments below about your sauna project, and we will get back to you as soon

What do we look for?

Check our blog for sauna maintenance tips. When we inspect a sauna, there are several things we check for routinely. First, we see if there is any damage to the wood in the sauna room. We also check the rocks for evidence of breakage, and can replace if they are too worn. We will check the function of the sauna and control, to ensure the temperature reading is accurate. The heater should be inspected to ensure all internal connections are tight, and free from rust.

We also check the power to ensure the correct voltage is being pulled across all heating elements. This will show if any of the elements are near failure. Stay posted for more repair tips!
